Text: 1 Corinthians 14:1-40.
“So with yourselves, since you are eager for manifestations of the Spirit, strive to excel in building up the church. Brothers, do not be children in your thinking.

Be infants in evil, but in your thinking be mature,”verses 12, 20 (ESV). One of the most beautiful things about being a Christian is that Jesus gives your life meaning and purpose. When we come together for worship, not only are we recognising our Creator and Saviour, but we are also praising Him for the value that He has given us. We are loved and precious to Him! As a result we can act in the world, and trust that what we are doing has value and meaning.
So much of what we expose ourselves to in the media has no logical point to it. In fact, it often wants to make the point that our lives are meaningless, so it really doesn’t matter what we do, or how we do things. Praise God that this is not true! We fight for the sake of reason and God’s purposes for the world!

Mankind has a rational mind that is designed by God to work together with our soul! Therefore with our spirit, empowered by God’s Spirit, we can do mighty and wonderful things for the sake of the Gospel. Your mind is a valuable gift given to you by God, and as a Christian, you have a special power to improve and develop that brain which is reading this. You are the very dwelling place, the Temple of the Holy Spirit. Therefore your brain should show the whole world how powerful that presence is. We are called as God’s people to think God’s thoughts after Him. Hallelujah!

Meditate on verse 20. How are you going to apply it to your life?
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, help me to be mature physically and spiritually in my actions. Amen.
