Text: James 5:1-20.
“Come now, you rich, weep and howl for the miseries that are coming upon you. Your riches have rotted and your garments are moth-eaten, “verses 1-2- ESV. Wealth itself is good and it is a blessing from God (Proverbs 10:22). The people being referred to here are those who do not know God, their riches is their god! They are not believers and they hurt people as they go about accumulating their wealth. The Bible is promising that such people’s riches will be judged and lost forever. Their owners will “weep and howl” meaning, they will be punished (Isaiah 13:6; Amos 8:3) on the Judgement day, and not necessarily through the present miseries that they may be facing. You may grab people’s land, clear fake drugs, recommend a shoddy work or even sell expired goods for your own gain, but remember those gains will be destroyed
and you yourself punished on the Judgement day. It is close at hand!

Meditate on verses 1-2, 13. How are you going to apply them to your life and family?

Heavenly Father, I pray for people whose property especially land has been taken fraudulently. Comfort and restore to them their losses. I pray for the grabbers to repent. In the name of Jesus Christ I pray, Amen.
