Text: Matthew 4: 1- 11
Most of today’s teachings are not motivated by the Gospel. After a revelation
there is time of instruction. There is a way in which many people think that
when you are filled with the Holy Spirit, you do not strive; not in this case.
Jesus was led by the Spirit into the Wilderness to be tempted by the devil.
So, Spiritual leading included tempting? He spent forty days and forty nights
without food and drink; and obviously He was hungry. He was tested in three
areas of desires of: i) the flesh, ii) vain glory and iii) pride of the heart. All
Christians must prepare for such tests. The response to every test was the Word
of God. The Word is the answer to every temptation you face daily (Eph. 6.17)!
Read and study the Word of God.
Meditate on verse 10. How are you going to apply it to your life?
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, forgive and cleanse us with the blood of
Jesus Christ, for many of us have worshipped the devil and his demons. Amen.
