Text: Jeremiah 52:1-34
This last chapter of prophet Jeremiah is more less a repetition of 2 Kings
24:18-20; 25:1-21; 25-30. It concerns the siege and capture of Jerusalem and
the arrest of King Zedekiah. From the world point of view, Jeremiah was not successful; for he had no family, no money, or even friends (v.34). He prophesied the destruction of the Temple, the nation and the capital city. The political and religious leaders did not accept or pay heed to his words. Yet he successfully completed the work that God gave him to perform.
Success in God’s way is measured on obedience, faithfulness and righteousness.
It is not measured on popularity, fame and fortune for these are temporal in nature. Obey God and be faithful in doing what God calls you to do, and there you will have success. You will effectively obey God through Jesus Christ our Saviour and Lord.

Meditate on verse 34. What is God teaching you in this verse?
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, help me to obey and trust You for every
detail of my life. Amen.
