Rev. Betty Mutonyi Mwandha (Mrs.) is married to Sam Mwandha. Between them are three biological children: Daniel (19yrs in S.6. vac), Elizabeth (15 yrs in S.4.) and Philip (12yrs in P.7.). They have and still do take care of several spiritual children and other people.
For Betty, Psalm 73:26-28 is an inspiration to service in God’s vineyard which started in 1983 as an Assistant Sunday service leader and Scripture Union chairperson, shortly after conversion. This service continued through high school, university and later church and community, especially in leading fellowships, prayer, teaching, evangelism, counselling and discipleship for different age groups. In 1997, she got encouragement from the pastor of Living Word Worship Church – Mbale, to get married to an Anglican in order to be part of the great revival God was doing in the Anglican Communion. The turning point to full time ministry came in 2005 in a sermon during the consecration of the Assistant Bishop of the diocese of Kampala. She was convicted to join ordained ministry and serve God with integrity.
Having been orphaned at one year; coming from a polygamous family, trained in sociology, counselling and divinity as well as participation in community work involving educational support plus sustainable livelihood projects for orphans and vulnerable children as well as families infected and affected by HIV/AIDS, Rev. Betty has a passion to impact families holistically in preparation for eternal life.
