Text: Genesis 39:1-23.
Joseph’s brothers sold him into slavery, and he was purchased by an Egyptian officer. Joseph proved himself to be hard working and honest,
so his master entrusted everything into his care. When the master’s wife tried to get Joseph to have sex with her, he ran. She accused him
of attempted rape, and Joseph was thrown into prison. Joseph was also honest in prison, so the warden gave him responsibilities there.
Scripture teaches that God is Sovereign over all things, and everything happens according to His plan (Isa.45:5-7). Joseph cannot know what
God’s plan is for him, but God works all things for the good of His people (Gen.50:20; Rom.8:28).
Meditate on verse 1-2, 11-12, 19-21. How are you going to apply verse 2 and 21 to your life?
My heavenly Father, I pray that You will be with me always as You promised to be with me until the end of the age. Forgive me all my sins
so that I can fellowship with You. To the glory of Your name, Amen.
