Text: Nehemiah 10:1-39.
“When the neighbouring peoples bring merchandise or grain to sell on the Sabbath, we will not buy from them on the Sabbath or on any holy day…”, verse 31 [NIV]. The children of Israel vowed to observe the fourth commandment. Let us too observe God’s Law as Christians. Let us treat Sunday as a special day, the Lord’s Day. A day to worship Him corporately and limit ourselves to only acts of mercy.
Meditate on verse 31. How are you going to apply it to your life?
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, forgive us as a community for many times we have not honoured You by taking time off to remember and worship You. Amen.
