Text: Jeremiah 17:19-23.
“Thus says the LORD: Take care for the sake of your lives, and do not bear a burden on the Sabbath day or bring it in by the gates of Jerusalem… keep the Sabbath day holy, as I commended your fathers,” verse 21-22 (ESV). God’s command to observe Sabbath day, Sunday, still stands. Whatever burden we may have, let us put it at the cross of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is calling you and encouraging you saying “for my yoke is easy, and my burden is light”, (Matt. 11.30)
Reflect on verse 21-22, what is God commanding you not to do, how are you going to apply it to your life?
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, give me the grace to obey Your commandment, help me to make Sunday holy for Your praise and glory. Amen.
