Text: Proverbs 22:1-29.
“A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches, and favor is better than silver or gold,” verse 1 (ESV). Guard against all things including money that can easily taint your name and corrupt your reputation. We have witnessed big names in both; the Church and government being reduced to filthy rugs because of corruption. But we have also great names among simple people who have resisted the love of money and have stood for the truth. Their good testimonies have outlived them. You embarrass your family members, children and grand children, in-laws and the body of Christ when your name appears in the media for wrong doing, including money matters. Let your
family and indeed society be proud of you because you have resisted the devil behind the love for money.
Reflect on verse 1, how are you going to apply it to your life and family?
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, give me the ability to resist temptation especially that of love for money. Amen.
