Text: Jeremiah 14:1-12
As part of God’s curses on His disobedient children, God sends severe drought which causes people to mourn and wail; even those in authority could not find water through their servants (vv.2-3). Farmers are suffering and wild animals are forced to change their livelihood (vv.4-6) because of this terrible drought in form of a curse.
Sometimes, we take these prolonged droughts as mere changing weather patterns not knowing that God is, indeed, punishing us for our iniquities. Unfortunately, we never learn to repent. May the Lord help us to read and to understand the signs of the times!

Meditate on verse 11-12. What is God teaching you in these verses?
Merciful Father, I pray that You do not visit our iniquities on us, this nation; but rather, through Your infinite mercies, lead many to repentance, forgiving us and healing our land. In the name of Jesus Christ I have prayed. Amen.
