At least 40 students who study from International Schools and about 20 old people will be confirmed in the Anglican faith on Sunday, August 11, 2019, at 2pm at All Saints’ Cathedral, Kampala.
The service will be presided over by the retired Bishop of Madi & West Nile Diocese, the Rt. Rev. Dr. Joel Obetia who will represent the Archbishop.
The Cathedral holds two confirmation classes annually targeting students in holidays. Due to disparity in the Ugandan syllabus and the International Schools, the international school students study in July and are confirmed in August, while those studying under the Ugandan syllabus start in December and are confirmed in January.

Confirmation is a special church service in which a person confirms the promises that were made when they were baptized. If you were baptized at a christening when you were a child, your parents and godparents made these promises on your behalf. As a young person or adult, you may be ready to affirm these promises for yourself and commit your life to following Jesus Christ. At a confirmation service, you make these promises for yourself.
Confirmation is done by the bishop, by the laying of their hands on your head and asking God’s Holy Spirit to give you the strength and commitment to live God’s way for the rest of your life.
