Text: 2 Chronicles 7:1-14
After King Solomon finished his prayer (chapter 6), Yahweh sent fire from
heaven to consume the sacrifice, His glory filled the Temple, and the people
saw it. By doing this He showed He was pleased. He let them know that He
was their God and they were His people – Emmanuel. The King then offered to Yahweh thousands of animal sacrifices to show his gratitude.

The greatest manifestation of God’s presence with His people was the
incarnation of His eternal Son, Jesus Christ, in human flesh. When Jesus was on the cross, the fire of God’s judgment was poured out on Him in the presence of all. God the Father was pleased with what His Son had done. The resurrection proves it. We now offer to God the sacrifices of our bodies in holy living (Rom.12:1) and the sacrifice of praise (Heb.13:15).

Meditate on verse 14. How are you going to apply it to your life?
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, we come before You knowing that we are not worthy to be in Your presence. Forgive and cleanse us. Amen.
