Text: 1 Peter 2: 13-25.
“For what credit is it if, when you sin and beaten for it, you endure? But if when you do good and suffer for it you endure, this is a gracious thing in the sight of God,” verse 20. (ESV). When you suffer for genuinely serving God, it is praise worthy. It is not worth it to suffer for the evils you have committed. When you follow and serve Christ you will suffer because Christ Himself suffered. Therefore stand firm. It is worth it.

Reflect on verse 20, what is God teaching you in this verse? Have you suffered before out of serving God and persevered or did you quit? Do you have a testimony you can share with others?

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, I pray for the Christians under persecution especially in the Middle and Far East. I pray for the nation of North Korea to open up for the gospel. I pray for protection and provision for missionaries and Christians in that nation. Amen.
