Text: Matthew 5:1-12
The greatest sermon was this call to all to have a new shift. Today’s world is full of people who want to order God to do their will according to worldly standard.
Jesus set a new standard of blessedness. He erases all former insinuations regarding prosperity and makes a suggestion on inheritance and Kingdom
occupation. He calls for humility, simple life, and godliness. He presents the
message, disregarding the comfort of those times, calling for righteousness
while being ready to face persecutions.
Meditate on verse 4. What is God teaching you in this verse? How are you
going to apply it to your life?
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, help us as a nation to mourn over sin that goes on unchecked in the nation. Forgive and cleanse us. Amen.
