Text: Philippians 2:1-18

The Bible encourages us to do all things without grumbling or questioning (v.14). Why should we not grumble? Because grumbling gives a false impression of Jesus Christ and the gospel, especially whenever practiced in the church of Christ. Grumbling drains a lot of energy and denies the unifying power of Jesus Christ. Grumbling was the main sin that the children of Israel committed against God in their sojourn from Egypt (Exod. 15:17). Desist from grumbling, for you are not grumbling against your leaders but God Himself, for it is God who appoints leaders (Rom. 13:1).

Jesus encourages us not to grumble among ourselves (John 6:43). He is our good example, for He never grumbled against God. Let us stop complaining about our leaders, instead pray for them and walk in light with them.

Meditate on verse 14. How are you going to apply it to your life?

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, forgive me for the many times I have grumbled and complained against my leaders. Amen.
