Text: Matthew 17:1-27
At the mountain, Moses and Elijah appeared to Jesus and talked to Him, why Moses and Elijah? (v.3). This is because the Law and Prophets testify to Jesus Christ. Therefore, Moses the law giver and Elijah one of the greatest prophets
of Israel; their witness of Christ at the mountain was paramount.
Jews highly respected the memory of Moses and Elijah. The scene was spectacular and Peter said, “…Lord, it is good that we are here…” (v.4, ESV). It is always good to be in the presence of God! You can only be in the presence of God through His Son, Jesus Christ, the Lamb that takes away the sin of man.
Meditate on verse 7. What is God teaching you in this verse?
Almighty Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, touch and strengthen me. Amen.
