Text: Acts 20:7-16.
“On the first day of the week, when we were gathered together to break bread…” verse 7 (ESV). It was now a custom for the apostles to observe the Lord’s Day supper or Holy Communion on the first day of the week.
Therefore the need for Church today to also worship and where possible celebrate Lord’s Supper on Sunday as a body of Christ. Note that Holy Communion is not limited to Sundays only.
Reflect on verse 7, why do you think Paul prolonged his talk and what was he talking about?
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, always help me to be prepared as I partake of bread and the fruit of the vine in remembrance of what You did for me. For Your love to save me from sin so that I may have eternal life. Amen.
