Text: Genesis 42: 1-38.
Joseph’s dreams of his brothers bowing down in submission to him [37:5- 8] have become a reality [v.6]. In ignorance they were fighting God’s agenda for Joseph; “…we shall see what will become of his dreams” [v.20].

And yet now they are bowing down to him! The brothers could not recognise Joseph because: Over fifteen years had passed, the teenager was now mature, so his body had changed much and now he looked more of an Egyptian by dress and appearance. Joseph never allowed any hint of familiarity to surface, and for them Joseph was dead [v. 13].

At the time when Jesus Christ was hanged, the devil thought Jesus Christ and indeed God’s agenda to redeem man had been frustrated. To the contrary, it was the time that the devil was indeed defeated and disarmed. Meditate on verse 8. What is God teaching you in this verse?
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, I pray that many will recognise,
receive and believe in Jesus Christ, as their Lord and Saviour. Amen.
