Texts: Job 39:1-30
The creatures of the world are also under God’s Sovereign governance. The
huge variety alone shows the greatness of His creativity. There is amazement in the intricacies of the birth process; the craftiness of the wild donkey, which allows it to live in the wilderness and yet find food; the great size and power of the wild ox, which man cannot harness; the stupidity of the ostrich, which seems to speak against its survival, yet its strength to run makes it faster than a horse; the bravery and power of the war horse; the awe of a hawk, as it soars to hunt. All these animals have their being according to God’s wisdom and command (vv.26-27).

Jesus Christ is likewise the Sovereign over the animal kingdom. For example, when Jesus told Peter to catch fish after he got nothing all night, Peter caught so much that it was breaking the nets. The fish did not just magically appear.

The Creator/Saviour sent them to the net. Peter fell down before Jesus and
worshipped (Luk.5:8). God is sovereign over animals; so He is over human
beings. It is equally so in redemption. Jesus is the One who gives new birth, the One who regenerates and converts.

Meditate on verses 26-27. What is God teaching you in these verses?
Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, You are God Almighty, the Maker of everything seen and unseen. You created everything from nothing by Your Word. You are worthy to be worshipped. Amen.
