Text: 1 Corinthians 11:1-34.
“for as woman was made from man, so man is now born of woman. And all things are from God,” verse 12(ESV). When we gather together for worship, you are all called as individuals, and in that worship experience you give God the glory as an individual that is being used for his or her original design.

That design is to find your exact purpose that you can use to work together in harmony for building the Kingdom of God. However, we live in a strange time in history where we are told that a man can become a woman, and a woman can become a man, and if you so choose, you might become something in between the two! There are doctors and surgeons who have the technology to do this! If this sounds strange to you, it should also cause you to weep, for now we are choosing to use our modern technology to insult God. When we assume that we have the right to choose something other than God’s original design, we insult His wisdom and His authority over our lives. In this day and
age we seem to be shaking one very big angry fist at God saying, “You made a mistake!” Who are we, the created beings, to say to the all-powerful creator, “We know how to do it better than you!” This is insanity. We make excuses for this insanity by claiming we have the right to do anything as long as it makes us happy. We may try to re-arrange our biology in many ways, but the truth is that we will never be happy unless we submit to Christ, and receive Him as our Lord and Saviour. He is the one who is glorified, when in worship we show Him who we truly are.

In the worship service, we are all preachers when we celebrate the Lord’s Supper “For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes,” (v.26). Everyone then has a big responsibility in preparing for such a very special occasion. Christ is present with us in Spirit, and he wants to change us with His power, especially when we gather together for worship. Why is it so hard to focus our mind on worship in this modern age? I believe it is because the whole media culture that we are developing demands that we change the topic or the image every few seconds or so. For you to change from image, or video or posting takes a matter of seconds. You are training your brain to switch from one thing to another constantly. Now, with that kind of a brain, you cannot sit down and worship Jesus for two hours.

Every time you take time to do social media, limit your time so that you can train your brain to focus well. This in turn will help you develop a mind and a soul that is ready for worship.

Meditate on verse12. What is God teaching you in this verse?

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, help me to appreciate the way You created me. Amen.
