Text: 1 John 5: 1-15.
“And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears
us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of Him”, verses 14-15. God’s will is that His Word be obeyed and His command be kept. It is important to memorize Scripture and quote when praying. [see Acts 4:25-28].

However, in life there are areas where you may not know what God’s will is, like in areas where there is no specific command or promise of
Scripture to apply His will. For example, praying for a job, here we need to apply the general principles. Also in such cases we should ask for
deeper understanding and then pray accordingly.

Reflect on verse 14, What is God teaching you in this verse, and how are you going to apply it to your life? What verse are you memorizing right now? How many verses do you memorize in a week?

Heavenly Father, help me read to Your Word, and obey it. In the name of Jesus Christ I pray, Amen.
