Text: Proverbs 22:1-16.
“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it,” verse 6, ESV. Train your child to make the right choices, for example, to pray always and trust God, so that even when you are not available he/she knows God is with him/her and that he/she is not alone. When a child is well trained at home in true Biblical principles, he/she will not be swayed by wrong teachings that are rampant these days.
When a child is trained well in life skills, he/she will make right decisions and survive in this unfriendly environment. For a child who is able to make wise decisions, honours God, he/she is the pride and legacy every parent would love to leave behind.
Reflect on verse 6, what is God teaching you in this verse, and how are you going to apply it to your family?
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, enable parents to be more available and to train their children in life skills. I pray for wisdom in children to make right choices that honour Your name. Amen.
