Text: 2 Thessalonians 3:6-18

The Bible warns us to avoid idleness and being lazy bodies, instead endeavor to have something to do (vv. 11-12). When you are idle chances are high that the devil will use you, you begin rumor mongering, back biting and interfering with other people’s businesses. When you have work, be focused, and this glorifies God. We are commanded and encouraged to be engaged in work.

Let us not waste time, instead let us learn from Jesus Christ who said He must work while it is day because night is coming when He cannot do anything (John 9:4).

Meditate on verses 11-12. How are you going to apply them to your life?

Father, the Maker of heaven and earth, in the name of Jesus Christ, teach me how to avoid idleness. Amen.
