Text: Romans 8:7-17.
At Baptism you were commanded as a soldier of Christ to bravely resist sin, the flesh and the world because if you are controlled by these things you cannot please God. (V 8) As we saw yesterday, the Spirit of God dwells in us and as a result we belong to Christ and sin cannot prevail over us. And this Spirit gives us freedom not as strangers, but children and heirs of God.

What does calling God ‘our Father’ mean to you? Do you feel qualified to inherit from God, our Father in Christ Jesus? Now that you realize
your freedom, is there anything you pledge to do differently?

Lord God, in the name of Jesus Christ, You have freed me from slavery of sin, help me to live responsibly in this freedom. Amen.
