Text: Isaiah 42:1-9.
‘I am the LORD; that is my name; my glory I give to no other, nor my praise to carved idols,” (verse 8). Let any teaching, any new experience cause God to appear to you more wonderful than before. Otherwise some Christian leaders are becoming so “powerful” and are highly elevated with their words quoted more than the Bible. Some people have come to call themselves ‘God’ and “Jesus’ and are surprisingly getting a following. This is dangerous as it will lead these leaders and those misled to eternal destruction.

Reflect on verse 8, what is God teaching you in this verse? How are you going to apply it to your life?

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, I pray for the many who are led astray by wrong teachings. Rescue them and give them eternal life through the work of Jesus Christ on the cross. Amen.
