Text: Genesis 5:1-5.
“Male and female he created them and he blessed them and named them man…” (verse 2). This again indicates the leadership role that a man should exercise in a family, yet with respect and tender hearted.
Customarily a woman takes the surname of a man after marriage signifying a man’s leadership in the family. This, however, is being fought in some circles of our society, and in some cultures as unbiblical gender wars.
Reflect on verse 2, to you, what is the significance of this verse especially in today’s teaching and practices of marriage relationships?
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, thank You for creating man and female in Your image. Forgive us as a society where
homosexuality is on the increase. l pray that You destroy the spirit behind homosexuality. Protect and give direction to our families. Amen.
