Text: Galatians 6:5-18

Many times one gets discouraged if after putting in a lot of effort one receives neither word of gratitude nor sees tangible results. The Bible encourages us not to give up (v.9). When you diligently put in all your resources and at the end you reap nothing, do not give up; for at the right time, the Lord will reward you. You help someone and in the end he turns against you; do not stop helping others. God is not limited. He will use another situation to your benefit.

Our example should be Jesus Christ. Despite His love for the people He came to die for, He was abused and many times told to go away. But He was never discouraged, “He will not grow faint or be discouraged till he has established justice in the earth; and the coastlands wait for his law.” (Isaiah 42:4, ESV) We too need to get satisfaction from knowing that we are fulfilling the Will of God (John 6:38).

Meditate on verse 9. How are you going to apply it to your life?

Heavenly Father, the Maker of heaven and earth, in the name of Jesus Christ, forgive me for the many times I have been discouraged. Amen.
