Text: Genesis 33:4-20.
Esau and his twin brother Jacob had separated on a very bad note due to betrayal, hatred, and suspicion. However, in today’s reading we
see the two brothers embracing, kissing, and weeping over each other.
Notice that Jacob, who got the blessings, calls Esau his lord! And also note that Esau offers to help with labor, (V 15) – the two had become
brothers again!
What lesson do you learn from this reading? Is there something from the text you need to thank God for? Is there anything you need to apply in your personal life? Reconciliation does not dwell on the past.
Almighty God, our Heavenly Father, I pray that You continue to guide me in ways that build and keep me in good and reconciled
relationships. Amen.
