Africa has been besieged for centuries and requires divine intervention for there to be a restoration of its resources. In series 9 we discussed areas where Africa needs to watch for a return to happen. First is a restoration of her food basket and secondly, her availability as an instrument for the teaching of the gospel.

We continue to discuss these areas;
3. Co-labour with the Lord
During a celebration of the wedding at Cana, the wine run out. There was sudden lack at a feast. Servants on Jesus command filled jars with water and the Lord turned water into wine. Similarly Africa is filled with vast resources but is plagued with great lack in all areas. For the miracle to take place at the wedding in Cana, the jars had to be filled by the servants. Africa will need to work hard in order to achieve its full potential. As the Lord performed a miracle at the wedding, He can do the same for Africa and replenish its bounty. Just like the best wine was served at the end, Africa’s future will be brighter and we will achieve the unimaginable if we fix our eyes on Jesus. John 2:1-8.

4. Vision and direction
When Paul was imprisoned and sent to Rome for trial, they faced a terrible storm at sea where they spent many days without direction to their destination. An angel appeared to Paul and encouraged him. Paul then encouraged the sailors not to lose hope as none of them would lose their lives at sea even though the ship would be destroyed. Act 27:1-44.

For Africa to shake off the lack of vision and direction and achieve her God-given destiny, we need to pray that God will raise people like Paul who receive direction from God and will offer encouragement, revelation and direction to Africa.

5. Presence of God
Wherever Jesus went, he healed every disease, fed the hungry, set the captives free and preached the goods news of the kingdom. The availability of Jesus changed lives and brought joy and healing to multitudes of people. Luke 17:12, John 11, John 9:25.

For Africa to experience the return of substance, she needs to focus on Jesus who is able to break the chains of oppression, heal the land and restore divine providence in the continent. This can only happen when African believers begin to desire and seek the presence of God.

Questions
1. In your life, where will you partner with God to bring about Africa’s much needed transformation?
2. Where is God leading you to provide direction and vision?
3. Have you walked in the presence of God?
How has the presence of God changed your view on what God can accomplish for Africa?

Prayer points
1. Pray that God will raise leaders who will listen and respond to Him.
2. Pray that God will give you a desire to seek His presence and cause a return of plunder in Africa.
